Graylisting
Greylisting is one of the latest tools in Spam protection. When greylisting is turned on, the mail server will temporarily reject messages sent to your account. The logic behind this is that legitimate mail servers will try to resend the message very shortly after receiving the rejection. When our mail server receives the second copy of the message, the message is deemed legitimate and then goes through the traditional spam filtering methods.
While there can be a delay of a couple of hours, the benefits outweigh the initial delay. Messages are only delayed until the sender is added to your "white list" (list of known good email addresses). When greylisting is turned on, people you send email messages to are automatically added to your white list.
Email Beth, Emily, or Jeff if you would like us to turn on greylisting for you.
Google AdWords
Do you want your site in the sponsored listings in Google? You can start for as little as $5/month. Google AdWords is a Pay-per-Click (PPC) advertising medium. You pay every time someone clicks on your ad. Your position in the list of ads is determined by how much you are willing to pay for each keyword. Unfortunately, $5/month won't buy too many clicks for most keywords, but it is enough to help you get your feet wet and learn how it all works. When you start to see small results, you can start increasing your budget for greater returns.
